Barton blames breakdown on stress

They say good teeth make for good health. If only that were the case for Mischa Barton.
With the debut of her new CW series, The Beauitful Life, just weeks away, the erstwhile O.C. star is opening up for the first time about her involuntary stay in a Los Angeles psych ward last month.
In an interview with Time Out New York, Barton explained that the unspecified "medical issues" that led to her hospitalization at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center July 15 were the result of stress from her various work commitments compounded by pain incurred from having her wisdom teeth removed.
"It was like a perfect storm, like everything was happening to me at once," the thesp told the magazine. "The show, travel and then this fairly routine surgery that went wrong¡ªit¡¯s still just healing. But I had to get through it without proper painkillers because I couldn¡¯t take those during work. So it¡¯s been a nightmare."
All we can say is...ouch.
While the four teeth were successfully extracted, the trauma and the job pressures left Barton in a very fragile emotional state. The anxiety was so severe, the 23-year-old actress said, she ended up placing a nonemergency call to police, landing her in the hospital. ... Read More ...

Mischa Released From the Hospital

Mischa Barton was placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center July 15 after calling police for "personal issues." Two weeks after being placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold, Mischa Barton has been released from the hospital and it ready to begin working again. "I can confirm that she's left the hospital with the intention to resume production" of her new CW show, 'The Beautiful Life', her rep has said. Mischa seems to be doing great,Ashton Kutcher, co-creator and producer of The Beautiful Life, has said, "I can tell you right now Mischa Barton is doing great," Kutcher said.

Rachel Bilson: Not Talking To Mischa Barton

They may have played BFFs Summer and Marissa on The O.C., but in real life, Rachel Bilson doesn't keep up with Mischa Barton. Rach was walking down Sunset Boulevard after leaving Chateau Marmont when paps asked if she's talked to Mischa, who was recently hospitalized for a mystery "medical issue" and placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold. "I haven't spoken to her," Rachel replied to the paps' queries. So what's the latest from those who are staying in touch with Mischa? According to her rep, the actress is "improving and still under care, with the intentions of being able to resume production on The Beautiful Life next week." Who would have thought that Marissa Cooper's little sidekick would have a much better career and love life than the queen bee of the O.C. herself?

Mischa Barton gets kicked out of nightclub bathroom

Mischa Barton, 23, was seen at Whiskey Mist and Bungalow 8 nightclub in Mayfair in London, on Tuesday, June 30th. She also was kicked out of the Whiskey Mist nightclub, when she tried to bring her friends into one of the bathroom cubicles. A source reported: "Mischa looked like she was having a good night. After sitting with a few pals at her VIP table she dragged her friend Bridget into the loos."
The source continues: "They tried to go into the toilet cubicle together but they were stopped by the toilet attendant. The lady said to her, "What are you doing? You are not allowed to go in together, you have to come out now."
Awhile after, Mischa decided to go into another cubicle alone, but she wasn't feeling great...the toilet attendant had to knock on the door to see if she was alright. And when she came out, she had complained about people knocking on the door. She then left at 2:30 am, and headed to another club.
